Orange
Fabian Billerwell 2004
This is a collection of songs which focus on the classical
guitar but I also get into the synthesiser with some new directions
that I am now exploring. After years of practicing the classical
guitar, which I still do daily it came time to put all my recordings
from 2005 - 2006 onto a CD. It is very meditative and has been known to
take some listeners 'to heaven'! Oh well, that's nice ... I like
it too, which is unusual as usually after working on something for so
long one gets a bit saturated.
Solo One
Recorded in Queanbeyan NSW at the Fellowship Studio.
Leaving Home
Just before packing up the home and moving to Tamania in late 2005.
Let the Sunshine
The only track on the CD with vocals ... It was all that I had to say and it says it all!
New Day
A new life in beautiful Tasmania
Elevation
A special weekend with friends when we were all lifted into the heights.
Grail Trak --- click for an MP3 sample - not as clean as the full sound file
As opposed to a train track ...
Easter Morn
Something holy ...
The Flower will Bloom
So many good things happening we can only be optimistic.
Beginnings
In the beginning when time began...
Horizons
All of a sudden ... the eagle's view
Orange
My favourite colour and so much more ...
Diaspora
Nothing lasts forever so the old has to go and we all go in search of our destiny ...
All the songs on Orange are placed in the order in which they were
written. It captures the amazing journey we spent over the last couple
of years ... and it's only just begun!
Made by You and Me Songs for a Dying Planet
Fabian Billerwell 2004
All songs recorded and all instruments played by myself (except as I mentioned on the track list) - it's the old story that if there is no one around to help then you just have to do it yourself.
These
songs cover a time period of about 12 years. I played other music
during this time but this is a personal collection.
Words
Recorded
at the "Manar pizee cottage" near Braidwood NSW in May 1993 after
returning from Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast. This cottage is out
in the bush with only magpies as neighbours. It all happened in just
one night. I was alone so I could turn up the Marshall till all hours
of the morning … maybe the magpies didn't sleep too well that
night.
Your friend
Recorded
at Moment Studio Caldwell ACT around September 1992 with the
talented Kieran Roberts who supplied back up vocals, arranging ideas,
sequenced drumming parts and the final mix. My good old friend from
earlier 'days' James Keith is on bass.
When we're all one
Recorded
in `The Chapel Studio' Woodend near Hanging Rock in August 1998. One
night while falling to sleep I had to get up and write down these
words. The next day I picked up the guitar and played E major and the
song just came out and the words didn't need any tweaking. My sister
Lucia sings backup vocals on this one.
Be yourself
Another recording from the same sessions as 'When we're all one' in August 1998.
Slowly now
Recorded
at Coorabel NSW at the 'Eagles Nest' which looks down from an
impressive range onto the coast directly above Byron Bay. This was
November 1992 … I was broke but the studio was happening and the
best beaches weren't that far away. Dinner was often only a handful of
macadamias.
Hold out your hand
Another recording from Woodend in Victoria. A later session around February 1999.
Millenium song
Recorded mid-year 1999 in `The Chapel Studio' Woodend.
A time for tears
This was recorded in Melbourne `Prentice studio' December 1993. Another late night session ...
Banks
This
was one of the last electric sessions I did before concentrating all my
efforts on the classical guitar which I'm still doing to this day. I
was pissed off with banks and decided they needed a serve … no
doubt they'll get into real trouble one day but I'm not holding my
breath!
Everyday
Mid-year 1999 in Woodend .
Made by you and me
Oh well this song says it all for me so it's the title track - another of the mid-year 1999 group.
