Theatre of the Sun
The Journey DVD
Now Available

A
delightful and entertaining puppet story that follows the journey of a
young girl Pippa, who is bullied at school, is over weight and has low
self-esteem . . . as a result she "takes it out" on herself and
her friends.
With the help
of Shandor (a space traveller) Pippa goes on an imaginary journey
inside her own body. She can observe how the organs are craving for
better food and more exercise . . and how Anger, Guilt and Fear
are creating havoc!
Realising
that Heart and Brain " feeling & intellect " are in conflict Pippa
decides it is time for reconciliation, they must work together in order
to create a healthy and joyful body and to actively participate in a
fuller life.
At Theatre of
the Sun our passion is to ignite children's imagination, challenge
their assumption and hence forth to lead them to a greater
understanding of themselves and the world around them.
Our aim is to
give children a sense of real ownership of self, so they can embrace
responsibilities and opportunities that life presents.
The journey
is a stimulating experience where children are visually and emotionally
involved with the internal conflicts of the body . . . bringing them to
understand that they are responsible for their own health and
well-being.
The story
explores issues about self-confidence, peer pressure, confrontation and
encourages children to become more aware of the way they think and feel
about themselves.

Jim Henson at The International Institute of Puppetry in Charleville, Mezieres France. The workshop was about film making
with puppets. There was a group of about 20 participants from all over
the world who were split up into groups to write, create, direct,
perform and produce their own short film.
Marie-Martine and Fabian have just completed their first short puppet film The Journey.
